WITH A NAME LIKE LUNTZ, YOU HAVE TO BE GOOD

We read a piece in the Washington Post recently mentioning yet another wonderful turn of phrase by Republican pollster and message maven, Frank Luntz.  We are inspired to compile a selectively incomplete list of, and we are coining it now, Luntzisms:

The rich are not Rich they are Job Creators.

The Estate Tax is a Death Tax.

American policy is not Oil Drilling but Energy Exploration.

School kids get Opportunity Scholarships not Vouchers.

Our government is not Eavesdropping they are conducting Electronic Intercepts.

Global Warming is bad; Climate Change is natural.

We are not Privatizing Social Security we are Personalizing it.

Free Trade is un-American not like American Trade.

And in that spirit, Uppercase offers this one:

It’s not Income Inequality it is Income Opportunity.
